On 27th of June (2014), I had my secondary leaver's prom. I can honestly say it was one of the best nights of my life and it was a great way to end the whole secondary school expecrience. Just like Record of achievement, the entire year went all out and we had a great time and some right laughs. It was held a swanky hotel near Durham, the perfect back drop for many awesome photos!
The day really started around noon when I was picked up to go for my hair appointment. In my last post, i went for my hair trial and i decided to go with a slightly different style. Instead of one braid i went with two, lowered the bun and untwined the braid in-between the curled pieces.
After that we went to a sushi place for a spot of lunch then made out way to Fenwicks to the Laura Mercia counter to get my makeup done.
I made a point of making it look natural because I barely wear makeup and I was so pleased with the outcome. Sadly, I couldn’t get any names of the products but if you’re nifty with a makeup brush, you can try to recreate it.
After all that i had an hour to get back to my own house to get my dress on.
I am wearing an aqua marine blue floor length gown from Sherri Hill. I absolutely loved my dress so much! I arrived a bit too big so i got it custom fit to my body…. resulting in it crushing my internal organs but oh well.. Beauty is pain.
My shoes are the same ones I wore to Graduation, purchased Carvela at Kurt Geiger (GLOBE) and the bag I’m not sure what the name is but it was also from Kurt Geiger. the bag to match they shoes was out of stock in Harrods when I went but they had this bag which had more of a blue rhinestone so it matched perfectly to the dress and the shoes.
My jewellery are all from Pandora. The earrings and blue ring were matching items and I received the heart stacking ring for my 13th birthday from my mother. All my female relatives have this ring so its kind of a tradition in the family.
I arrived to school in style in my Dad’s Aston Martin and then got a double decker bus to the prom location.
On the bus it was all excitement, nerves and attack of the moths when one got into the back of the bus and I killed it with my handbag… Ninja Maddie to the rescue. (Disclaimer: I apologise to all moths on the world… The girl’s screams were annoying me.)
The night itself entailed a lovely three course meal, endless amounts of selfies and awards, finished with a disco to rap it all up.
The people on my table and I all got professional photograph taken by the photographer, which now stands in my bedside table. I also got to keep the party centre piece which was really beautiful! My award was just a small thank you for singing at Record of Achievement/Graduation and my runner up prize for Prom Queen. you could say i was Prom Princess instead hahah. (seen above!)
Although my hair didn’t last two minutes of dancing and the moth apocalypse, the night was one to never forget! I love my year so much and good luck for the future. Trying not to be cheesy but oh well!
